Charges coming in neglected animal case

SHUSHAN -- The Washington County District Attorney's office says charges will be coming in an animal abuse case.

Several dead and neglected animals were found in a rented home in Shushan last week. close to a dozen animals were found; the landlord says she discovered the animals when she went to fix the chimney.

Eleven dogs were found inside the home with no food, no water, and no heat. Five rabbits were also found, but three were already dead. Several exotic birds were also dead, and an aquarium appeared to be frozen solid.

Washington County District Attorney Tony Jordan tells CBS6 that this is an ongoing investigation being handled with great care.
