Troops sent pizzas for the big game

CHICAGO (AP) -- It wouldn't be much of a Super Bowl party without pizza.

So, troops deployed overseas will be able to enjoy a couple of slices while watching the big game. About 10,000 Chicago-style pizzas are being sent to the men and women in uniform deployed in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Oman. Veterans' officials and Illinois Governor Pat Quinn announced the pizza airlift yesterday.

The nonprofit group Pizza 4 Patriots is partnering with DHL Express and suburban Chicago-based Great Kitchens to make and ship the pies. They're packed with dry ice and ready to bake.
