Police: Cohoes man threatened ex-girlfriend with pellet gun

TROY -- A man who police say terrified his ex-girlfriend and her family was arraigned on Monday on eight felony counts.

Rashann Hunt, 35, was arrested on Sunday night after police say he threatened the family of his girlfriend of 12 years who had broken up with him. The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on First Avenue in North Troy at the home of the woman's mother.

Police say hunt violated valid orders of protection by entering the home and displaying a pellet gun and knife and threatening suicide-by-cop. The girlfriend called 911 and police eventually caught up with Hunt trying to leave the building. He was arrested and charged with burglary, weapons possession, criminal contempt and child endangerment.
