Police: suspect in custody for Global Foundries threat

MALTA -- State Police arrested a man they say is responsible for the security incident that caused Global Foundries to evacuate on Monday.

Robert Thomas, 25, of Glenville was arrested for falsely reporting an incident. According to officials, Thomas works for an electrical contractor at Global Foundries as an electrician's apprentice. He allegedly wrote a note that said explosives were placed at the facility and left it in a common area.

Thomas was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail on Monday afternoon in lieu of bail.
