Amsterdam authorities investigate pair of robberies

AMSTERDAM - Police have made an arrest involving a robbery at an Amsterdam business.

Police say 29-year-old Daniel Pabon was arrested after an investigation into a robbery on December 3 at the Upstate Electronics on Market Street.

Pabon was charged with robbery and assault.  He was arraigned and sent to Montgomery County Jail on 25,000 bail.

Police have made no additional arrests and are still investigating the robbery at the Suman Convenience Store back on Monday.

AMSTERDAM -- Police are investigating two overnight robberies in as many days.

Authorities say they got a report of a robbery at the Suman convenience store in the Riverfront Center on Monday night. They say a man entered the store and demanded money and cigarettes while showing a handgun that was tucked in his waistband.

On Tuesday, police got another call, this time about a robbery at Upstate Electronics on Marker Street. Investigators say a man came in and demanded money while brandishing a knife. An employee there was cut on his hand during a confrontation with the suspect.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact police.
