Rotterdam Ambulance Proposals Made

ROTTERDAM - The heated battle over who will be awarded Rotterdam's next contract for ambulance services takes another step tonight.  Long standing provider Rotterdam EMS and rival Mohawk Ambulance square off tonight to present proposals to town officials regarding the services they could provide.

Town Supervisor Harry Buffardi did not return phone calls for comment.  Dean Romano of Rotterdam EMS says neither provider will present any expense to the town, since they are funded entirely by reimbursements from insurance companies and payments from clients.  Romano also says criticisms that Rotterdam EMS has struggled to staff shifts or has suffered slow response times are incorrect.

At 5:30 Thursday evening, both outfits will present their proposals in an open forum, though no public comment will be permitted.
