Police: woman tried to rob Troy bank

TROY -- Police are asking for the public's help to find a woman they say robed a bank on Monday morning.

The incident happened just after 11 when they say a woman approached the counter at the First Niagara Bank on Third Street and handed the teller a note demanding money. She reportedly fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say she is described as a white female wearing a green hoodie with the hood up, and a light colored cap underneath. She had on black runner type pants with a white stripe down the side. Both the hoodie and pants have white drawstrings.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities at 270-4426.
