Gas leak prompts bank evacuation

GREENPORT -- Bank employees and customers were forced to evacuate a local bank due to a reported gas leak on Monday morning.

Employees said they smelled gas at the Greenport branch of the Kinderhook Bank on Graham Avenue shortly after it opened. Fire officials searched the building to find the cause of the leak, and National Grid crews were also investigating.
