Police say NY teen made bomb threats on Facebook

PORT EWEN, N.Y. (AP) -- Police say a teenager from New York's Hudson Valley has been arrested for making bomb threats through a hacked Facebook account.

The Times Herald-Record reports  that 19-year-old Skyler Eby of Port Ewen was being held without bail following his arrest Friday.

State police say the charges resulted from an investigation that began Nov. 12 after two targets received bomb threats through a Facebook account.

Eby is accused of hacking into another person's Facebook account and posing as that person when making the threats.

One of the targets was in Ulster County and one was in New York City. Police say no bombs were found at either location.

Eby was arraigned on charges including making a terrorist threat and identity theft.

Information on an attorney was not available.
