Police: Body likely that of missing Pleasant Valley woman

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. (AP) -- State police say a body found beside a road is believed to be that of an upstate New York woman they'd been searching for since her husband and two sons were found shot to death on Thursday.

Trooper Melissa McMorris says investigators have "great certainty" it was 43-year-old Sarwat Lodhi's found dead Friday in Wappingers Falls, about 13 miles south of where her family was found in Pleasant Valley.

She says the cause of Lohdi's death isn't available. More information will be released during a 5 p.m. news conference about the deaths of 49-year-old pharmacist Abbas Lodhi and their sons, 9-year-old Zain and 13-year-old Mugthba.

Authorities have said they believe Sarwat Lohdi had been injured and was a victim, not a suspect, in what they called a "family tragedy."
