Governor defends Moreland Commission
Governor Cuomo defended his Moreland Act commission on Thursday, maintaining that while the legislature is more functional than it used to be, there is still both the perception and reality of corruption.
Cuomo said he is much more aggressive about dealing with that perception and reality than the lawmakers are, and added that if they continue to refuse to disclose their income or clients, he has the right to make sure voters are aware of their reluctance.
The governor says he wants to restore trust in government, and the Moreland Act Commission is a way to do that.
