Regulatory changes to SMS text alert system
Due to a new regulation in the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which applies to all text messages that will be sent starting October 16, SMS programs are required to obtain "express written consent" from consumers before sending a text message.
The message you received was required to include two new disclosures.
(1) that text messages are sent from an automated system
(2) consent is not required to buy goods and services
If you wish to continue, simply follow the instructions on the text alert.
