Nor'easter to Bring a Heavy to Major Snowfall Monday Night into Tuesday Night

A major Nor'easter is expected to develop south of New England Monday night, potentially getting stuck near Cape Cod into Tuesday before moving away Tuesday night.  This storm will bring heavy snow and gusty wind at times causing blowing and drifting snow, potential whiteout conditions at times leading to dangerous travel late Monday night through Tuesday.  Snow accumulations of 10" to 20" will be possible, especially in the Hudson valley and across western New England with amounts up to 10" in the Mohawk valley and western Catskills.

Dutch scholar in NY seeking copy of postwar film

ALBANY (AP) -- A Dutch scholar is in Albany scouring local history archives for a copy of a black-and-white film The Netherlands produced to thank the upstate city for its help after World War II.

The Times Union of Albany reports that Anja Adriaans of Nijmegen is on a mission to find a copy of "This is Nijmegen," a short film that was shown in Albany movie theaters in 1950.

The Netherlands produced the film after the people of Albany donated 300 tons of supplies to Nijmegen in 1947 to help it recover from the devastation caused during the war, when Allied troops and German forces battled for control of a bridge in the city.

Adriaans wants to find the film so she can use it to teach young people in Nijmegen about their city's history.
