Police: Delmar man faces computer trespass charges

ALBANY - A Delmar man was arrested after making unauthorized access to other users accounts at a State office.

State Police say 52-year-old James Burton, a private contractor through a contract with C&C consulting, used a limited administrator password account to change other account passwords without authorization.

Burton was working for the NYS Office of Information Technology Services at the Swan Street office in Albany.

The account was disabled on discovery of the unauthorized action

Burton was charged with felony computer trespassing and issued an appearance ticket in Albany City Court.

Police are still investigating.
