Woman admits to hit and run

ALBANY COUNTY -- An Albany woman admitted in court to crashing her car into a group of people this summer.

Shanikqua Thomas pleaded guilty to three counts of assault in Albany County Court Thursday afternoon.

In August, Thomas says she was fighting with two groups of people on Elm Street. During the argument, she got into her car and reversed into them, hitting six people and seriously injuring three. Though she drove away, Thomas was quickly arrested by Albany police.

As part of the plea, Thomas will serve 15 to 18 years behind bars. Her sentencing is scheduled for December.
