Occasional Snow To Continue Into the Evening, Slow and Slick Travel Persisting

Patchy areas of light snow wil persist through the evening with brief localized bursts of moderate snow possible through 8pm.  Additional snow accumulations will be spotty and light, generally 1" or less through the evening.  The cold air in place will continue to support slow and slippery travel conditions with less traveled roads, parking lots, and sidewalks remaining snow covered through the night.

2013 Adirondack Balloon Festival

GLENS FALLS, NY -- New York's largest hot air balloon festival is the oldest and largest balloon event on the east coast and the four-day event kicks off on Thursday, September 19th.

The festival is a not-for-profit organization and it is strictly run by volunteers. The festival relies on local community support each year.

Admission to the event is FREE! General parking is also free, but the festival accepts donations. VIP parking can be purchased online for $15. Handicapped parking is also available.

The festival encourages RV's, but camping is now allowed on the grounds. The festival also recommends bringing blankets, flash-lights, lawn chairs, and coolers.

Balloon flights occur just after sunrise or close to sunset. The balloons do not fly during the day, and the festival will not book balloon rides.

Many of the participating pilots will book rides independently.

The balloon flight schedules are weather permitting.
