Snow and Gusty Wind Today - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snowfall of varying intensity is expected through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

Troy Violence: Looking for an Answer

After a rash of violent crimes in Troy over the past few weeks, councilmen Dean Bodnar and Jim Gordon are calling for changes in how the city polices the streets.

The councilmen claim ever since Mayor Lou Rosamilia appointed a Police Commissioner, the new enforcement motto appears to be "hug a thug."

The Mayor disagrees though, saying enforcement is strengthening under Commissioner Tony Magnetto.  Rosamilia says crime is cyclical and when and where it occurs cannot be predicted.

He says he has an open door policy and invites Bodnar and Gordon to meet with him and discuss ideas to make the city safer.
