Snow and Gusty Wind on Tuesday - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snow will become steadier from SE to NW this morning, with snowfall of varying intensity through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

Vets plan tributes to local WWII airman on route home

ALBANY -- Veterans along a 10-mile stretch of New York's Mohawk Valley plan to pay tribute to a World War II airman whose remains are returning home nearly 70 years after he was killed during a combat mission in the South Pacific.
Funeral director Vincent Iocovozzi says veterans groups will post honor guards along Route 5 as the vehicle procession carrying Sgt. Dominick Licari's casket leaves the New York State Thruway at Little Falls and travels to his hometown of Frankfort.
A commercial flight carrying his casket is scheduled to arrive at Albany International Friday evening. His funeral and burial with full military honors are set for Tuesday in Frankfort.
Licari died in 1944 after his bomber crashed into a mountain in Papua New Guinea. U.S. military officials recently identified his remains.
