Six Flags could buy Hoffman's Playland

COLONIE -- Albany County Executive Dan McCoy told CBS6 on Tuesday that he recently presented a proposal to Six Flags, hoping that they would show an interest in taking over Hoffman's Playland.
Owners David and Ruth Hoffman have expressed their desire to retire, and the future of the amusement park has been the subject of much debate.  In June, tens of thousands of people "liked" a Facebook page dedicated to saving Hoffman's Playland.  Tonight, that number is near 19,000.
There is no timetable for when a deal may get done, if at all.  Owner David Hoffman did tell CBS6 that the park definitely will be open in 2014.
