Snow and Gusty Wind on Tuesday - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snow will become steadier from SE to NW this morning, with snowfall of varying intensity through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

Boston's Dempster suspended 5 games for hitting A-Rod

NEW YORK -- Ryan Dempster of the Boston Red Sox has been suspended for five games and fined $2,500 by Major League Baseball for intentionally hitting Yankees star Alex Rodriguez with a pitch.
The penalty was announced Tuesday by MLB senior vice president Joe Garagiola Jr. He also fined Yankees manager Joe Girardi $5,000 for arguing with plate umpire Brian O'Nora on Sunday night.
The Red Sox have two games off in the next week so Dempster is unlikely to even miss a start.
Dempster could still play if he decides to appeal the penalty.
