Teen gets probation for sparking fire at historic East Greenbush house

EAST GREENBUSH -- One of four teens charged with setting fire to a centuries-old Dutch farmhouse in East Greenbush last September will be sentenced on Wednesday.
17-year-old Thomas Snyder pleaded guilty to arson after admitting that he and three other 15-year-old boys started the blaze that destroyed the vacant Kospa Family Farmhouse on Start Avenue.
Under the terms of his plea bargain, Snyder will serve five years probation and pay $750 in restitution. Snyder was also given youthful offender status, which means his record will be sealed.
