Fort Edward man accused of killing infant son appears in court

FORT EDWARDS -- Kevin King, 30, was in court Friday for a preliminary hearing. King is charged with shaking his 3-month-old son, Brett, on August 11 for crying while he played a video game and then throwing him on the concrete ground.

The prosecution called an investigator as its only witness, who testified how King told them he did it. A video of the reenactment was shown to the judge, but was not made available to the media.

Court records showed King initially told police he lost his balance and fell on Brett, but later admitted to throwing him.

King was held without bail until a grand jury is convened, which District Attorney Kevin Kortright expects will happen in the next two weeks.
