Cops: Troy teen hit girl with beer can, smashed car windows at Ravena festival

COEYMANS -- A Troy teen is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly breaking into cars and assaulting a girl at a Ravena music festival.
The festival is commonly known as Jah Fest, an outside, overnight musical festival held annually on private property in Ravena with local bands performing.
According to Coeymans Police, officers responded to the party around 8 a.m. after receiving reports that 19-year-old Brendan Ryder hit a woman in the face with a beer can. He also allegedly broke into several cars of festival attendees.
While officers were interviewing victims, Ryder was spotted but fled into the woods. The Albany County Sheriffs Canine Unit and the NYS Police helicopter were called in for assistance in finding Ryder. They were unable to locate him in the woods but later found him hiding at his mother's Ravena apartment in Oakbrook Manor.
Ryder was taken into custody and charged with two counts of felony assault, felony criminal mischief and multiple counts of petit larceny.
He is currently being held without bail at Albany County Jail.
