"What's new, pussycat?" David Cassidy arrested for DWI
SCHODACK -- The man best known for his role as Keith Partridge in the 1970's hit TV series, The Partridge Family, was arrested in Rensselaer County for allegedly driving drunk.
According to Schodack Police, 63-year-old David Cassidy was going through a Stop-DWI checkpoint when he was stopped.
Rensselaer County District Attorney Rich McNally said when Cassidy was pulled over he asked for the cops names. When arresting officer Tom Jones told him his name, Cassidy reportedly replied, "Oh, what's new, pussycat." D.A. McNally told CBS6 anchor Liz Bishop when he later learned the arresting officer was Officer Tom Jones, the first thing he said was, "It's not unusual."
Cassidy, a Fort Lauderdale native, was charged with felony DWI and failure to dim headlights. He faces a felony DWI charge because of a prior drunk driving conviction in Florida.
He was arraigned and taken to Rensselaer County Jail where he posted $2,500 bail. He is scheduled to return to court in September.
