Local Superheroes Race for Health

TROY -- Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services hosted Heroes for Health, a superhero themed obstacle run, on Sunday.

The event was to benefit Whitney Young's programs and services.

"We hope for this event to bring out the superhero in all of us, not only by completing each obstacle, but by doing so, helping our patients overcome their own obstacles," said Maureen Yee, Development Director at Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services. "We want this obstacle run to be fun for all levels of fitness, whether you do this sort of thing every weekend, or are just looking to have a good time while supporting a great cause."

Costumes were encouraged and there was prizes awarded for best costumes and race times. All proceeds from the event will go to support health care for the more than 20,000 men, women and children Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services treats each year!
