WYNANTSKILL -- An Albany County Corrections officer is accused of blackmailing his boss.

48-year-old Carlo Sorriento of Wynantskill is charged with coercion, aggravated harassment and official misconduct.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says Sorriento tried to have a former Correctional Facility administrator change his union contract, among other requests, to benefit his needs.

Sorriento allegedly threatened the administrator that if he didn't make the changes he would release information that would damage his reputation.

Sorriento was arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court and released on $10,000 bail.

The identity of the former jail administrator has not released.

Sorriento is a 23 year veteran of the department.
