Still waiting for a tax refund

Some New Yorkers are still waiting to receive their state tax refunds.

As previously reported by CBS 6 News, there have been delays in processing state personal income tax returns this year.  According to department of Taxation and Finance spokesperson Geoff Gloak, "95% of refunds have been issued.   The remaining refunds are going out daily.    As of May 31, by law all refunds issued for over-withholding for returns filed by the April 15 deadline are receiving interest.  Also by law, interest is not paid on refunds for refundable credits."

Jay Skellie, a Salem dairy farmer, says he was told he might not see his refund for another 6 to 8 weeks or longer.  Skellie says they’re due to receive a sizable refund.  Not having it is making managing their checkbook a challenge.
