Nor'easter to Bring a Heavy to Major Snowfall Tonight into Tuesday Night

A major Nor'easter is expected to develop south of New England tonight, potentially getting stuck near Cape Cod into Tuesday before moving away Tuesday night.  This storm will bring heavy snow and gusty winds at times, causing blowing and drifting snow. There's the potential for whiteout conditions at times, leading to dangerous travel late tonight through Tuesday.  Snow accumulations of 10" to 20" will be possible, especially in the Hudson valley and across western New England with amounts up to 10" in the Mohawk valley and western Catskills.

Farmers welcome the heat

Farmers are welcoming this heat.

The Public Relations Manager for the State Farm Bureau, Steve Ammerman, told CBS6 that after the heavy rains, the extreme heat is good for corn and hay crops.

While the high heat will help dry out the soil, Ammerman says that too much of a good thing is bad, and that more sun and high temperatures could dry out crops.
