Man Arrested After Stealing Cooking Oil

KINDERHOOK --  One man was arrested last night after he attemped to steal cooking oil.

On July 6, State Police arrested Daniel De Mota, age 32 of Yonkers, for stealing cooking oil from the Hannaford Supermarket in Kinderhook, as well as Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

State Police received a call from a Hannaford employee reporting a male had stolen cooking oil from the rear of the store and left the scene in a vehicle.  State Police located the vehicle in a near by neighborhood and then found De Mota walking nearby.  He was placed in custody and was also found to be in possession of marijuana.  He was issued tickets to return to the Town of Kinderhook Court.
