Security amped up for Troy's Flag Day Parade on Sunday

TROY -- Through the years, it's been billed as the biggest Flag Day parade in the country. But if you plan on heading to Troy's parade on Sunday you can expect to see some changes.
The Troy Record reports that coolers will be inspected and plain clothes police officers will be scattered around the area to help keep parade-goers safe.
The new security measures were added following the Boston Bombings and will be implemented into other events including 'Rockin' on the River' and the 'Uncle Sam Day Parade.'
The 46th annual Flag Day Parade, that is held to honor the American flag, steps off at 1 p.m. at 4th and Main Street in South Troy. The two mile route ends at 4th and Federal Street.
