Local residents approve revised budgets

Residents in three local school districts all voted to approve revised budgets on Tuesday night.
Of the more than 5,500 votes cast in the Town of Niskayuna, 66.7% of voters supported the $75.7 million spending plan.  After the initial budget was defeated, the Board of Education made $630,000 in additional cuts, and the revised budget called for a .47 % spending increase.
Voters in Middleburgh approved their revised budget with 592 votes in favor to 414 votes opposed.  The new budget increases spending by .2 %, and carries a tax levy increase of 2.68%.
In the Cairo-Durham School District, voters approved the budget by a 112 vote margin.
