Arrest made in armed Colonie robbery
COLONIE -- One man has been arrested for his alleged role in an armed robbery, but Colonie Police are still looking for two others that helped hold up a Colonie pawn shop.
Colonie Police say late Thursday evening, three black men entered the X Change Cash & Trade on Central Avenue.
One man showed the clerk a handgun while the others tied the employee up. The trio stole cash from the register and gold jewelry and fled on foot up Osborne Road.
Early Friday morning, two patrol officers spotted three men near 22 North Street that fit the description of the suspects.
Two officers chased the men and were able to catch one of the suspect, 47-year-old Eric Taylor of Delmar.
When police searched Taylor, they found a pellet gun, a stun gun and some of the stolen cash on him.
He was charged with two felony counts of robbery, two counts of felony assault, felony criminal use of a firearm, felony grand larceny, resisting arrest and unlawful imprisonment.
The two other men took off on foot and got into a blue Chevy Trailblazer near Crammond Street.
They're described as black men in their 20s. One was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with black writing, a dark colored baseball hat, jeans, and sunglasses. The other was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, a dark colored baseball hat, white sneakers, jeans, and sunglasses.
Both arresting officers were injured in the chase. One had to get stitches the other broke a finger.
