Police: Assistant coach arrested on rape charges

ESOPUS - A volunteer assistant coach with the Kingston High School Crew Team was arrested Saturday morning on charges of sexual contact with two underage teenagers.

The Ulster County Sheriff's Office arrested 22-year-old Kevin Quick of 39 Jockey Hill Road in the Town of Kingston. A joint investigation conducted by New York State Police and the Ulster County District Attorney's Office revealed, according to police, that Quick had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl on May 4 and made some sort of sexual contact with a 16-year-old child on more than one occasion at Quick's home.

In their news release, police say they were notified by Kingston City Schools Superintendent Dr. Paul Padalino that Quick was dismissed from coaching.

Quick was arraigned in the Town of Esopus Justice Court sent to the Ulster County Jail on $50,000 bail.  He is charged with rape and forcible touching.

Police say more charges are possible.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Detective Unit at (845) 340-3956.
