Cops: Gloversville man beat, choked 3-year-old girl

GLOVERSVILLE -- A Gloversville man is facing felony charges for allegedly beating and choking his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter.
Gloversville Police were called to 51 Yale Street in Gloversville to check on a 25-year-old woman and her 3-year-old daughter after family members contacted police because the child didn't show up for daycare.

When officers arrived, they interviewed both the mother and her boyfriend, Marc Nichols. While speaking with Nichols, also known as Marc Depa, officers saw that the woman's 3-year-old daughter had bruises on her head and body. Following an investigation, detectives determined that the girl's injuries had been caused by Nichols over the period of a month.

He was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Assault, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing.
Nichols was arraigned and remanded to Fulton County Jail on $250 cash bail.   The child's mother has not been charged.
