Albany's Annual Memorial Day Parade
Veterans and active military members marched through the streets of Albany as part of the annual Memorial Day parade.
"It's very precious to me because as a kid, I was allowed to grow up and enjoy being young to know that these men prior to me, went off in their youth, and so many of them gave their lives," says Veteran, John Jankowy.
Spectators of all ages lined the streets applauding and saluting our soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
"It's for the soldiers and how they fought for us," says parade spectator, Jordan Wedenbine.
Many displayed their love and appreciation for those who never made it home, a message that was emphasized on purpose during Monday's parade.
"The true cost of your barbecue today is buried in the ground," says James Ader, parade adjutant. "I miss my buddies. I don't want them to be forgotten."
"They put their lives on the line everyday," says parade spectator Tersa O'Brien. "They are the ones giving us our freedom."
A sacrafice so many of us our thankful for not just today, but always.
