Albany High School hosts blood drive

ALBANY - Students, teachers, and staff rolled up their sleeves to give blood.

Albany High School hosted its third blood drive this school year Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30.  The school is looking to win scholarship money from the Red Cross if 85 pints are collected, and 238 pints overall during the school year.

The Red Cross says about 20 percent of the blood used in the United State is donated by students. A single donation can save as many as three lives.
