Upstate NY rollover leads to liquid manure spill
BATH (AP) -- Police are investigating a tractor-trailer rollover that led to the spill of about 6,000 gallons of liquid manure in the Southern Tier.
The Steuben County Sheriff's Office tells local media that a tractor-trailer owned by a local dairy farm rolled over Saturday afternoon on a road in Bath, about 60 miles south of Rochester.
The rollover ruptured a tank containing the manure.
As many as 40 gallons of diesel fuel also was spilled.
Sheriff's deputies say the fuel and liquid manure drained into a nearby creek, where it was contained.
The road was closed for several hours.
