Cops: Mom left baby strapped in car seat on hot day

EAST GREENBUSH -- It was 98 degrees Fahrenheit inside the car a Troy mother left her infant child inside, according to East Greenbush Police.
A 911 call was placed by a person who saw the baby strapped in its car seat, alone, in the East Greenbush Wal-Mart parking lot on Tuesday afternoon.
The car windows were left cracked open but when officers arrived they used a laser infrared thermometer to determine that the temperature inside the car was 98 degrees Fahrenheit.
The child was not harmed. When police found the mother, 22-year-old Jamillah Clay of Troy, she told investigators that she had parked the car but forget the baby.
Clay has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.
