Cohoes teen arrested with stolen property

EAST GREENBUSH -- Police arrested 17-year-old Thomas Slivienski from Cohoes on Tuesday afternoon when he was found to be in possession of stolen property.
Police said that some of the items were those that had been reported stolen from a Muriel Avenue home on Monday after a resident of the home came home from work and told police that someone had broken in and stolen $50,000 worth of watches, jewelry, and electronics.
Police sent a description of the stolen items to local pawn and coin shops on Tuesday morning.  The owner of the Gold Mine Pawn Shop triggered a silent alarm after a customer came in with watches and jewelry matching the description of the stolen items.
Slivienski was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Burglary and 3rd Degree Grand Larceny..  He was ordered back to court later in the week.
East Greenbush detectives recovered the rest of the stolen jewelry from a house on Southern Avenue and a home on Lakeview Avenue.  Police said that the case remains under investigation.
