Drunk driver totals police car

ALBANY - An Albany Police car is totaled after an early morning DWI crash.

Around 2:00 a.m, an SUV failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with an Albany Police car. According to Police Spokesman Steve Smith, both officers in the car were sent to the hospital with minor injuries and have since been released. The car, however, was totaled.

The driver of the other car, a 19 year old from Albany, was found to be drunk and in possession of a fake ID. He was arrested and charged for both a DWI and the fake ID. He also was ticketed for failing to stop at the stop sign.
