Nurses to speak out for staffing concerns

ALBANY -- Hundreds of members of the New York State Nurses Association, nursing students and   Assemblyman Richard Gottfried are speaking out for safe staffing at the association's annual Lobby Day.

Assemblyman Gottfried, Health Committee Chair and lead sponsor of the Safe Staffing for Quality Care Act, will address the crowd regarding the Nurses Association's number one priority - enacting safe staffing legislation to address unsafe nurse-to-patient ratios at New York's healthcare facilities.

Lobby Day kicks off at 10 a.m. at Empire State Plaza Convention Center with opening remarks from Nurses Association Executive Director Jill Furillo, who was responsible for winning safe staffing legislation in California.
