MOREAU (AP) -- State officials say another 200 acres have been added to a park in eastern New York, preserving open space in a fast-growing county.
Commissioner Rose Harvey of the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commissioner announced Friday that the 200-acre parcel added to Moreau Lake State Park will expanding popular hiking opportunities in an area known as the Palmertown Range.
Located in the northern Saratoga County town of Moreau, in the Adirondack foothills 35 miles north of Albany, the 4,500-acre park features hiking trails, a swimming beach, campsites, picnic areas and a newly completed pavilion near a nature center.
