Fight over phone fueled fatal Watervliet stabbing

WATERVLIET -- Watervliet Police say the fatal stabbing over the weekend started with a fight over a phone.
It happened just after 4 p.m. on Sunday at 1618 Fifth Avenue.
Investigators say 30-year-old Brandon Burritt and 51-year-old David Hochsprung both shared the apartment where the knife fight took place.
At some point during the afternoon, the pair got into an argument over the phone and ended up stabbing each other several times.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Hochsprung's body upstairs and Burritt on the downstairs landing, alive, with several stab wounds.
Burritt is still in serious condition after undergoing emergency surgery.
At this time, Burritt has not been charged with a crime.
Police are still investigating.
