3 cops injured in collision with stolen car
ITHACA (AP) -- Three Ithaca New York police officers are recovering from injuries suffered when their vehicle was struck while pursuing a man driving a stolen car.
Authorities tell local media outlets that police in Ithaca responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from a gas station around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Officials say officers spotted the vehicle but the driver refused to pull over. Police say at one point during the pursuit through the city, the man drove the wrong way on a one-way street.
The driver hit an unmarked police vehicle, injuring the three officers inside. Their injuries aren't life-threatening.
The driver, a 53-year-old Syracuse man, fled the scene on foot and was found at a nearby housing complex. He's being held in Tompkins County Jail. Information on the charges against him weren't immediately available.
