Women arrested for using forged travelers checks
GUILDERLAND -- Police say they have arrested two women for using forged travelers checks to buy merchandise at Crossgates.
The Guilderland Police were called to Crossgates Mall by a Loss Prevention Officer from Old Navy after he witnessed a woman use a forged travelers check to purchase items at his store. The loss prevention officer followed the woman through the mall witnessing her do the same thing at other stores.
The Police arrived and interviewed the woman who was eventually arrested. The United States Secret Service assisted with the case and verified the travelers checks were fake.
When the woman's friend showed up to the Guilderland Police department to pick up her friend, she was also arrested for the fake travelers checks. According to police, she had used them at the H & M at Crossgates.
Alexandria Subero, 20 of St. Albans, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Impersonation. Shantanik Holloway, 19 of Long Island City, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and Petit Larceny.
Both Subero and Holloway were in the Mall buying merchandise with forged $100.00 American Express Travelers checks. Anyone with additional cases should contact the Criminal Investigation Unit at 356-1501
