Fourth arrest in gang assault with hammer
SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Saratoga Springs Police have made a fourth arrest in what they’re calling a gang assault.
Jacob Boldt, 24, of Gansevoort was arrested on Friday for the attack that happened early Saturday morning.
Investigators say Boldt and at least three other people forced their way into the Whitmore Court apartment and beat a man with a hammer and other blunt objects.
Three others were arrested earlier this week in connection with the attack. Ryan Barber, 25, Theodore Pamper, 24, and Aubrey Barber, 30, all from Malta, are facing felony charges for their alleged hand in the attack.
Witnesses told police the beating stemmed from an incident at a party where one of the members of the group had been kicked out of a party earlier that night.
The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
Boldt was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony burglary with intent to cause physical injury, and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was arraigned and remanded to Saratoga County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
Saratoga Springs say more arrests may be coming in the future.
