NISKAYUNA - An off duty Schenectady police officer assists in  the arrest of a man who is accused of robbing a Trustco Bank.

Niskayuna police say 31-year-old Robert Costello of Watervliet entered the Trusco Bank at 3641 State Street Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.  With his face covered, he handed the teller a note demanding money.  He did not display a weapon, and Costello left the bank without any cash.

Costello is charged with attempted robbery and attempted grand larceny.

He was arraigned in Niskayuna Town Court and sent to Schenectady County Jail without bail.
