Trial of hit-and-run driver begins in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY -- The trial for the man charged with hitting and killing a 19-year-old Schenectady girl back in November 2011 begins at Schenectady County Court today.
Anthony Gallo, 34, of Schenectady was arrested after Schenectady Police say he struck Cassandra Boone who was walking along State Street near Erie Boulevard.
He fled the scene and Boone later died from her injuries.
Gallo's license had been suspended ten times when Schenectady Police charged him in connection with the deadly hit-and-run.
He is charged with manslaughter, vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and several other misdemeanor charges.
Gallo has been behind bars awaiting his trial.
