Siena Signs Two New Hoop Recruits
LOUDONVILLE, NY - Trenity Burdine, a 6'5" swingman from Reading, Pa. (Reading), and Melsahn Basabe, a 6'7" forward from Glen Cove, N.Y. (St. Mark’s), have returned binding National Letters of Intent to Siena.
"Trenity is a long and athletic player with a good basketball IQ who can play both guard and forward," said head coach Fran McCaffery. "He has a tremendous three point shot which adds a whole other dimension to his game." "Melsahn is a tremendous athlete with great skill who can play multiple positions," noted McCaffery. "He can play the three, four or five, can shoot it outside, and there is no doubt in my mind that he’s going to have a tremendous impact on our program immediately." Burdine, who averaged 16 points as a junior for Reading High, and Basabe who played for the highly-regarded New York Gauchos AAU team this summer, will join the Saints as freshmen for the 2010-11 season. ESPN grades both recruits highly, giving Basabe an 89 and Burdine an 87 in their recruiting analysis.
