Siena Saints Out of the NCAA
Scottie Reynolds scored 25 points; Corey Stokes added 20 and Villanova gave Upset City its first sense of normalcy with an 84-72 victory over Siena in the second round of the NCAA tournament Sunday.
Reynolds added eight rebounds and five assists as the 12th-seeded Wildcats (22-12) advanced to round of 16 for the third time in four years. Villanova will play the Midwest Region's top-seed, Kansas, in Detroit.
The Wildcats can only hope to take some of Tampa's upset mystique with them to Motown. The tournament pod had four lower seeds win opening-round games for the first time in NCAA history, but Villanova ended the streak Sunday by eliminating the No. 13 Saints (23-11).
